... more about Life Patterns and the people behind it

Life Pattern Technolgies Ltd is a start-up company that came about in order to produce and market the technology around behaviour monitoring and data acquisition in a number of areas in the the field of healthcare and well-being. The background of the founding directors is in the fields of information engineering, machine learning, biomedical engineering, biomedical signal processing and behaviour monitoring.

The People ...

Prof Christopher James Prof Christopher James received the B.Elec.Eng. (Hons) degree in from the University of Malta and a Ph.D from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He was founding director of the Institute of Digital Healthcare at the University of Warwick and is now Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Director of Warwick Engineering in Biomedicine at the University of Warwick. His research activity centers on the development of biomedical signal processing techniques applied to the electromagnetic activity of the human brain, as well as information extraction from activity monitoring for behaviour. He has over 180 papers published in biomedical engineering and related journals. In November 2012 he gave the prestigious IET Wheatstone Lecture on Brain-to-brain Communication in Chennai, India and was awarded the IET Sir Monty Finniston Medal. In 2013 he was awarded the IEEE MGA Achievement. He is past-chairman of the IEEE UKRI Section, Chair of the IEEE UKRI EMBS Chapter, and a past member of IEEE the EMBS Administrative Committee (twice as Europe Representative). He was on the council of the European Alliance of Medical and Biological Engineering Societies (EAMBES). He is past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Healthcare Technology Network, is on the IET Healthcare Network Executive. He is on the Royal Academy of Engineering's Panel for Biomedical Engineering. He currently sits on the editorial advisory board of the IEEE Spectrum Magazine and IEEE Access. He is founding editor-in-chief of the IET Healthcare Technology Letters journal.
Dr James Amor
Dr. James Amor
graduated from the University of Southampton in 2007 with an MEng in Computer Science, with a particular focus on complex data processing and computational intelligence techniques. He went on to do a PhD focusing on the identification of human behaviour patterns from long-term health and wellness monitoring systems. This work focused on the application signal processing and computational intelligence to the processing of multi-parametric data sets from multi-sensor environments. He has since been working at the University of Warwick on wearable technology and intelligent data analysis for health and wellbeing. James has broad experience both in data science and data engineering as well as algorithm development and intelligent data processing.
